Sony SMP-N100
Provides an array of on-demand content providers (Netflix, Amazon, Qriocity) at a very accomodating pricepoint. Format support is not great but better than other similar streamers (Roku, Apple TV). None of the lossless 7.1 formats are supported. The interface somewhat resembles a PS3 and is thus light years ahead of most current players. Wi-Fi is included as standard. Problems have been reported streaming network content (e.g. no MKV support over a network).
The Sony provides access to a good variety of on-demand content but is lacking in general file format support.

It's a good player. October 18, 2010 - 14:33
Not Sigma based, teardown shows similar chipset used by Sony Blu-ray BDP-S370, 470 & 570 players. That would explain why it doesn't support MKV over DLNA as those Blu-ray players are the same only supports MKV through USB. Leave a Comment
