An upgraded version of the A-210 from the Media Players veterans, Syabas. Uses the Sigma 8647 chipset which, whilst not revolutionary, adds more power (800Mhz vs 667Mhz). Otherwise this player builds on the 200 series foundation by using a similar slick interface and offering good format support. The software on the Popcorn Hour players is more advanced than the Realtek based alternatives, you get media scraping, a beautiful jukebox, and the ability to install Syabas 'Apps'. Some will be surprised that the A-300 is only HDMI 1.3a and that there is no 3D support.Official Website Youtube AVSForum-http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1365040[/L] Popcorn Hour C-300
This site doesn’t give the real score for Popcorn players. For example, 2 players first in the range of 59 and 60 (Popcorn Hour PopBox & Popcorn Hour A-200) are suddenly upgraded to 45 and 46. Also with the other PCH players they are giving unreliable scores. Iboum has surely made a deal with the Popcorn management. 1 STAR FOR ALL POPCORN PLAYERS! ! !
This player is the best I've tried!
The best of a bad lot. It's a shame we will be waiting for firmware to fix the bugs for the life of this unit as with other players.
For all the promises media players are still only at the primitive stages of their existence not quite evolved to an end product.
If it suits ones needs now then be it and enjoy for what it is.
seems very good device. does it record programs as well? my old ACRyan is dying and the company shuts down. what can i buy?
Have it, going to sell it, so over waiting for these incompetent losers to finish what should have been a completed item before release... Don't waste your money.
The A-300 support "RMVB" file
The data listed on here is incorrect. This device supports FULL Blu-Ray ISO menus.
Anyone found an outlet in the USA that is stocking these PCH A-300 units?
Still no Sigma chipset out yet that will play 3D. HDMI 1.4 is not the issue as you can send 1.4 signals through 1.3 as the unit does for SBS/TAB 3D playback. The advantage of this is only that your TV auto changes to correct 3D mode.
The Sigma 8910 chipset can play 3D full packed full resolution but thats still vapourware.
Damn... still HDMI 1.3 version! No 3D!
