Australian Realtek 1073 player. Essentially the same as the Astone and other Realtek 1073 players, so good performance and format support. The one standout feature is the front mounted USB ports. In some setups this will make a big positive difference to usuability. The MediaNow is receiving regular firmware updates from Realtek as with several other players. DTS downmix is not supported.

I have consitant isuess with the way some MKV (*cough* usenet *cough*) files play on the WDTV. I fix it by running a program called PopCorn Audio Converter. I just remux the file with that converter and it fixes it. Something to do with the way someone muxes the file in the first place that makes it almost unusable on the WDTV. Just mux every movie you wanna play and it will fix it.

Current firmware is 1.73 (as at 4th December 2009), which matches up with latest refrence firmware from the chipset maker.
