Hisense MP800H
Very cheap Chinese Realtek 1073 player. Has the usual Realtek fast operation and good format support but is hindered by the basically ugly user interface. The Hisense is lacking a proper English language website but despite this there is good availability in the UK. The firmware is getting regularly updates via a Chinese website (linked to below). It is available in many colours.
The Hisense distinguishes itself by being very inexpensive. This is partly achieved by it being unable to downmix DTS audio, otherwise the internals and firmware are the same as many other of the Realtek 1073 players. In the USA it is possible you might find this player rebadged as a 'VBRIDGE'.
For what it costs this is a great player.

I already have one of these players, I would dearly like to buy another, the media streaming is so good, but the GUI is so so so bad I cannot. Are you working with Hisense on an update that would add thumbnail cover art and opportunity to add full page jpg info for movies ? This is all the unit needs to perfect it, a few days of effort making the GUI usable will sell you lots more boxes ! I say again, the unit plays media really really well, so frustrating that they have not made obvious and easy changes to the GUI. Leave a Comment
