Realtek chipset, front eSATA, Bittorrent

Eminent EM7080
The first Realtek player from Eminent. Promises the usual Realtek performance and format support in a fully featured package. Has a front mounted eSATA port and inbuilt NZBget to differentiate it from most other Realteks.

AV connectivity is good and the 3.5" bay allows cheaper PC hard drives to be used. We have been unable to verify the exact state of the current firmware for this model but the numbering (1.0.2.4) would indicate that it is very recent when compared to other Realtek players with the same firmware version numbering scheme (e.g. the EGreat EG-R1 is at 1.0.2.3 at 16-Dec).

We are told that availability on Eminent products is going to get much better in early 2010 with stock in large stores and online availability through Amazon.
