Dune HD Base 3.0
Highly anticipated player from Media Player veterans, HDI / Dune. Uses the latest Sigma 8642 chipset so has bags of performance. Offers support for an internal Blu-Ray player (will also be available with Blu-Ray player fitted as the Dune BD Prime 3.0) and full menu Blu-Ray ISO images. In addition it offers massive expansion, every output under the sun, eSATA, and a good range of on-demand features.
As of 14-Dec the Dune Base 3.0 is in stock and available for purchase. The early firmware / hardware niggles have largely been resolved leaving the Dune 3.0 as the most complete and feature packed Media Player money can buy. It is one of only two Media Players with the ability to play Blu-Ray discs and ISOs with full menu, it has full HD-Audio support, and it uses a chipset that gives it the best decoding performance of all players. On the software side, the user interface is superior to all the budget players with full movie jukebox features. Dune have a good track record of providing firmware support to their players.
The Dune Base 3.0 is the most powerful Media Player released to date and will do absolutely everything. Yes it's expensive, and yes it faces stiff competition from mini HTPCs, but as a Media Player it is the best that money can buy.

What a fantastic player! Yes it cost more than the average player, but it does EVERYTHING! BluRay ISO over a network with BluRay menu support. That should say enough right there. This is the one! October 31, 2009 - 01:52
I'm a bit confused by the listing of the audio formats twice; once in Audio Formats and then again indivudually just below Image Formats. Further confusion that the second listings are blank for this player but not for the PCH C-200. Same it true in the table ... Leave a Comment
