Hang on, this reminds us of something. Ah ha, yes, it's the Mede8er. This Datage is exactly the same unit as the Mede8er MED500X. Oh the joys of rebadging.

It is a Realtek 1073 so fundamentally a capable player, how good it turns out to be will rest on the firmware implementation.

We will try and establish whether this can run the Mede8er firmware and where you can actually buy one. It's very possible that this player is coming direct from the factory and therefore is not available for retail purchase. Expect an update soon..

Their firmware worked on my Playon!HD. The bad thing is that their GUI is very poor and that the firmware is basically orientated to Asian users

I tired their firmware out on my playonhd and although the hardware is the same as the mede8er the firmware is not.

It's a basic Realtek GUI nothing special although their firmware is one of the latest available out of all Realtek players.
