ASUS O!Play HD2
Updated 2010 version of the Asus O!Play. Uses the same Realtek 1073DD (OK, this time perhaps the + variation) as the original. This Asus is one of the first players to use a USB 3.0 port (coming after several Egreat players) and the ability to use an iPhone as a remote is being advertised heavily. The user interface is customised to Asus and is slick.
The Asus HD2 looks like the usual well designed and reliable Asus product. That it uses an aging chipset is a dissapointment.

I've had one of thee for 2 months and its the worst, most unreliable piece of kit i've ever owned. mp4s only play in stereo Basically, look elsewhere. Mine goes back today! December 29, 2010 - 22:35
Reading at some forums they claim that the player doesn't recognize external subtitles in MKV files. And there are many complaints in ASUS support forum for lack of firmware support that fixes the bugs November 09, 2010 - 07:45

Realtek chipset confirmed along with info that it will come with an embedded version of Opera. Info gleaned from cocaine/speed infused Charbax Strange thing is Asus are also prepping another media player but Arm based with a GPU accelerated GUI and web browser the Asus EeeMedia EM0501 so they other plans afoot.
