ACRyan Play!On HD Mini2
Updated version of the popular Play!On Mini, this time with the next generation Realtek 1185 chipset. Very similar to it's HDD bigger brother, the Play!On HD2 but lacking an internal HDD. Uses the new 'Playon! GUI2.0' adaptation of Realtek SDK4. Product #ACR-PV73800.
As with it's big brother, the HD Mini2 does not take full advantage of the capabilities of the 1185 chipset and lacks on-demand content. We would however expect more features to be added, and the price of the Mini2 makes it good value.

Unfortunately, I can only agree with you. February 17, 2011 - 18:22
@Jambon, I've also done considerable research on the subject and have owned several media players before the Play! On. I'm very well aware of the moaning that goes on in ALL forums, as you put it. You go ahead and spend your money on what you like, but my opinion stands. As far as I'm concerned you may as well flush your cash down the toilet. If you want a decent product, buy a Boxee Box. I just did and it's a pleasure to do business with a reputable company. Very unlike ACRyan. I've already given my Play!On Mini away. For free. February 13, 2011 - 16:12
Ik heb nu ruim een week ook een AC Ryan Playon!HD Mini2 maar bij alle dvd's (vob bestanden) werk de ondertiteling niet, wel bij MKV... WMV bestanden. February 13, 2011 - 16:14
I have now about one week a AC Ryan Playon! Mini2 but all HD DVD (vob files) the subtitle does not work, orto MKV ... WMV files. January 15, 2011 - 16:09
Having owned about 6 different brands of media player including the ac Ryan play on - I felt the costumer support and the update of new beta software was -by far -the most frequent with AC Ryan. At least they listened to the feedback and addressed them with solutions. I would happily buy their products again and am really looking forward to their new gui with the mini2 January 12, 2011 - 11:37
@ Anton I've been researching these players as I'm the market for one. I've been looking on a lot of official and other forums to try find the "best" player to purchase. There are people complaining and moaning about bugs, firmware, updates etc in ALL of these forums for ALL of the players I've been looking at. Generally the feedback on AC Ryan is good so I wouldn't single out ac ryan above others. January 04, 2011 - 19:27
Readers should be very wary of ACRyan products. Along with many others, I'm the disappointed owner of the current mini, which is now gathering dust in my garage. Their software is crawling with bugs, some of which never get addressed. When new firmware is released to supposedly fix things, it *always* ends up breaking something else. Their forums are rife with users complaining about serious problems with the box like the inability to play compressed .mkv, numerous audio bugs particularly with passs through, poor network response, etc. The latest firmware *caused hardware to fail* for a lot of users.
