PlayOn! HD DVR
Enhanced version of the succesful ACRyan PlayOn! with dual DVB-T tuners and AV in recording. Uses a chipset ACRyan claim is 1283C+, although we couldn't see any difference between this and the DD+ used in other recent players.
The DD+ (C+) chipset provides support for all HD-Audio and virtually every file format. The Realtek chip is now tried and tested to provide good performance. The Media Player side of the firmware is very good, being based on the PlayOn, and offering YAMJ support. Without testing or more user reports we can't comment on the DVB-T performance. One thing we are dissapointed about is the lack of HD DVB-T (T2). Many countries now have terrestial HD programming.
All the ACRyan products are well built with some of the best firmware support. We have little doubt this will be the same, the only fail being the lack of HD DVB-T.

Hi Steve. I was trippin... this records HDTV beautifully in Australia. Careful with the quality settings though. I recorded a 3hr ALF game and it took 20GB hehe. Looked fantastic though. August 19, 2010 - 01:50
Yeah but No But YES hdtv over dvb t1 (europe) but here in UK, only country so far, HDTV over dvb t2. Might still get one of these tho, depends on the price August 14, 2010 - 21:58
There are three different versions of this player available. Also, I think the ACR-PV751X0 models have a 1283 in them (not a 1283C+). On a sad note, I ordered one of these without thinking about whether it could record HDTV :~( I think DVB-T2 and YAMJ need to be added to the "Extras" filter list on iboum. September 01, 2010 - 01:57
Matt, which unit would you have bought? I too want to record the HDTV. Thanks Leave a Comment
