Xtreamer Pro
New version of the Xtreamer targeted at more demanding users. Additions are an eSATA port and two internal 3.5" HDD bays rather than one 2.5". The chipset used is the new DD+ version of the Realtek 1283. This gives full lossless HD-Audio support, a feature much requested in the original product. The 2.4 firmware now provides for full lossless 7.1 HD-Audio and a movie jukebox.
The Xtreamer Pro is no great advance but is a more complete product if you require the additional features.

Iboum, Have you tested and confirmed whether this guy and Egreat EG-R4b, whose chipsets are new DD+ version of the Realtek 1283 and 1283+, support DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD pass? Links or evidence? July 20, 2010 - 08:29
1283DD+ / 1283+ are different names for the same thing. Some people just drop the DD part. As to 7.1 audio, it definitely works on the Xtreamer Pro and Sidewinder with the imminent(!) 2.4 firmware. We've not tested it but there are a few testimonials on AVSForum and people from Xtreamer have confirmed it to me. The Egreat R4A / R4B is waiting for an updated firmware, which should be ready early August. May 25, 2010 - 20:18
The manual suggests that it can play internet radio simply from .plsx files. Does this really work? Can I place these files anywhere in the directory tree, or do they need to be placed in some special/magic directory? I have a list of hundreds of "favorite streams" and I'm looking for some player that allows to manage them in something more appropriate than a linear list :-) July 06, 2010 - 22:41
@ Paradroid - Yes it can play them - direct playback from anywhere in media library is pretty linear however you can also access them from RSS and structure the categorisation / grouping / searching any way you want. 'CaP May 18, 2010 - 19:55
Tested extensively - much faster than xtr 2.5 and fan is practically silent. 2 3.5 sata drives saves a lot of cost on drives and can I please clarify - Xtreamer Pro is not etrayz + Xtreamer - It is not a NAS, it is simply an improved model using the same firmware structure as the Xtreamer classic. Why would it be faster than the Sidewinder? The 128megs exta of ram won't make that much difference unless you are using very detailed posters. In addition the unit has to control 2 HD's which is going to use some power. When you say practically silent, what do you mean? Can it be made totally silent from 2 metres? There are very few fans that are silent unless they are slow moving larger fans and quality made. pmcd May 17, 2010 - 06:38

Lame product!!!! February 24, 2010 - 05:50
So after 9 month of "learning lessons" with the Xtreamer (which still has advertised features that are lacking) they lauch the eTRAYz which is beta product at best. Now they want to put the two together? Don't make me laugh. February 13, 2010 - 15:23
