Capable Realtek chipset, format support
Fan noise

Xtreamer
One of the first Realtek players, offering a great range of features at a previously unimaginable price. When launched in July 2009 it was incredibly cheap compared to the less powerful players that had come before. The Xtreamer was a sign of things to come, with there now being many other similarly priced Realteks.

The Realtek chipset and firmware combination provide great performance and format support. On the hardware side the Xtreamer is tiny but yet manages to cram in all the major features. The cooling fan in the Xtreamer can run loud, however many people have been running Xtreamers with the fan turned off without any reported problems and a passive cooling kit is available.

After many months of no public firmwares updates the 2.4 firmware is now available. The big advance is the addition of a movie jukebox, allowing movie cover art browsing and synopsis. This feature is implemented so that the generation of the art / synopsis is done by the player itself, unlike YAMJ or Zappiti. The jukebox is slightly sluggish in operation but not horrendously so. Some users have reported it as buggy. Try it out using the 'Firmware Updates' link below.

I had problem first with fw 2.4 then i used emergency fw 2.4 and so far my player works fine it is better than beta 20 . if i dont use Jukebox, But i think jukebox 1.3 better than new 1.4.9 if i use it on fw 2.4 it crash my xt more than 1.30 so i dont mess with it now , just going to wait for stable jukebox , just give cap and his team time to make better jukebox
dont forget they are just guys like us doing it in there spare time not Xtreamer company (team) just take time . With fw 2.4 there are still small bugs so i hope they will fix them soon . and move on to fw 3 , i think they fix a lot from beta 20 but it is not perfect lets hope they will not take so long time for new fw like thy did with 2.4

I found it is very important to do reset "Default settings". It will erase the settings db like /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/VenusSetup.dat and XTR_setup.dat. Now it is possible to login to google it must be passible to make an rss for gmail (finaly) to check my e-mail
I thank X for that (googleServiceLogin didn't work before)

XTREAMER must be developed by hackers that could NOT hold a JOB anywhere else but XTREAMER.NET.

If you DON'T want to lose money, time and be frustrated to hell - then STAY AWAY from XTREAMER PRODUCTS.

They promise a lot but deliver TOTAL BULL CRAP that looks nice from a distance but works correctly ONLY a fraction of the time !

I'm well and truly p***** off.
2.4 is really buggy and there is no update news or help on the official forum.
They really do treat their customers like crap.
Good little player let down by slow development and very poor and miss informed communication.
Both Xtreamer and Etrayz are suffering from buggy firmware and It not getting sorted!!!!!!!!!!

It might not be so bad if we could get our hands on leaked firmwares but even they have dried up so we are just left hanging!!!

After buying the Xtreamer Mk1 and waiting and waiting and then getting turfed out by the Xtreamer SMD moderator from the forum I had enough and purchased the EGreat S1A..

What can I say..

Better plug adaptor
More connection interfaces.
Working HD Audio
Faster and smoother menus and play back.

This player is what I wanted the Xtreamer to be...

Don't waste your money and buy the EGreat S1A, you won't be disappoint for a year waiting for it to become something it promised...

ETrayZ source code has been release I think.. so that extrnal community can at least develope it...

Perhaps something to do with GPL license...

Me again

One of the worse problems with my Xtreamer was turning the damn thing on and off.. having to unplug it to get it working, and having to turn the TV and USB HD on after the unit otherwise it wouldnt start..
Pressing the remote to turn it off and wonder why it was still on..

Needless to say the EGreat S1A boots perfectly and switches off within 1-2 seconds..

Piece of Korean Crap... I enjoyed the ZX81 more..

what is going on now getting 3 weeks and not 2.4 final jet ?
why cant you just focus on the fw 2.4 not adding new things to it
you have to fix all bugs from 2.4 b20 so it can be 2.4 final
then add new things and call new fw 2.5 or higer
of course it is nice to have new things in our XT but fix old bugs before please!

bugs: Bad Wifi connection/drops ever ( we need an usb extension cable for work, pathetic ), only 1 driver installed for an useless wifi realtek dongle( we wanna ralink drivers too, they work better ), 50% wmv dont play, 50% flv dont play, some hangs at boot, 75% internet TV streams dont play, Web-based players plugins dont work (vlc & gnom), ... XT is an alpha ( non beta ) product.

For me it was straight back to 2.3.1 fw. I don't care about Movie lib (how well made, congrats). I want fast and furious search for movie, mp3 (tag) and photo. New Playon has it already and also other RTL with new fw.
As for 2.4b20:
- some nice new features (auto shutoff should be allways on)
- very bad playback of DVD iso (made me roll back)
- why is MovieJuke so present? I have my own menu.rss
- so much time is spend on unwanted features, so little time is spend on bug fixing, even introducing new bugs
Well, one step forward, two steps back

HAHAHAHA.... If you perceive the jukebox as something that was not wanted then scan the forum... I think there are 1,000,000 users that have asked for this functionality..

And actually, it is working quite comfortably.. Few more revisions and the last stuff will be solved also.. ISO playing is working without a problem over here btw..

@Helmonder, jukebox is a mess, just movies put together . I'm using it with wired network, and everything is so slow, the search, browsing movies, everything that you just surrender before playing anything and just play the movies of the first or second page or anything that shows up.

I would have prefered a working firmware as well, the nfs performance back to what they were at the firmware 1.0.3.1, the ability to choose if i want the device to scan my network and show me the memory card of my network or just what i want it to display (mounting from web interface like it was in old firmwares).

i forgot to mention the black screen and start over again each time you try to move back and forth in the menus, that you must "enable" your shares by browing each of them in order to display the covers each time you restart the device (take like 1 or 2 minutes).

And also that the broken nfs makes me use samba which don't support symbolic links resulting in ... empty folders... so you have to add your favorites each drive instead of one shares with all symbolic links (remember? you have to activate them each time you restart the device. Nice, isn't it?)
