MSI Wind12 U210
A novel combination of an AMD Neo processor and an ATI Radeon graphics chip. Together with the unusually large 2GB of RAM this should make a powerful beast. And indeed it is, well certainly compared to your average Atom Netbook. However, we struggle to see the point of this extra power. It is not enough to make this a gaming machine for instance, and for the usual Netbook tasks the extra power will make no difference. The Radeon graphics here are less capable than the Nvidia ION platform and the Wind12 U210 is not capable of decoding 1080p video, so despite the HDMI port will be of limited use as a Media Player. The extra power comes with a major handicap, battery life is way below the usual for newer Netbooks at a stated 5 hours and less in real world usage.
An interesting combination of components but one that limits portability without adding enough performance.
