HP Mini 311
A more powerful netbook priced slightly higher than usual. For that extra cash you get a an NVIDIA ION graphics chipset and a larger than usual 11.6" 1366*768 display. The other specifications are the standard Atom 270 (also 280 version available) netbook. The beefed up graphics provide for a noticeably improved experience in general use and the (near unique among netbooks) ability to play HD video files. Hook up a TV via the HDMI port and you have a very capable Media Player. The trade-off for the larger screen is in size and weight and looks. This is at the heavy end of the spectrum and does not have the looks of, say, an Eee1008HA. Battery life is a respectable 6 hours.

The HP Mini 311 is one of the best performing netbooks and opens up a whole world of new possibilities with it's media capabilities.
