We are at the beginning of a revolution in home entertainment. The old technologies of CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, and broadcast TV are on the way out. The future will see all media content stored digitally and made available on-demand.
iboum.com exists to document and explain this transformational shift in media consumption. You will find sections devoted to the new technologies that you'll soon find in every home. Each product on this site is broadly involved in the delivery of media to consumers via the fusion of computing and home entertainment.
Our aim is to catalogue these developing technologies, so documenting the evolution of the future as well as providing a simplified method of comparison for the present.
If you try and search for solid information about new technology products you will find yourself bombarded by press releases and conflicting information. It was the fact that searching for any new product on Google will bring many pages of the same press release that led us to develop the site the way we have.
In each of the product areas we look at, we aim to provide complete coverage of the marketplace backed up by articles explaining the technology. We are unique in that we provide only focused coverage of the new digital entertainment technologies.
Our product pages offer a simplified and sortable product database, edited and maintained by us to be accurate and concise. We provide a simple rating for each product but no full reviews, choosing instead to provide comprehensive links to many external information sites. Every page allows comments and we encourage user feedback, reviews, and ratings.
